Betty (Johnston) Ruston

Betty Ruston, 93, of Bonnie passed away Thursday evening, April 2, 2026 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.

She was born in Lexington, Nebraska on January 20, 1933 the daughter of Roy & Ethel (Wells) Johnston.

Betty retired from the Secretary of State Office in Springfield after many years. She was a member of the Bonnie Church of God.

Betty is survived by her:

Son: Roy Ruston of Ina

1 Sister: Beverly Smithey of Myrtle, Mississippi

1 Brother: Charles Johnston & wife Mary of Aurora, Colorado

She is also survived by several Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Brothers-Glen & Merle Johnston and 1 Sister-Bellveretta (Bell) Farmer.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 10th at Kirk Cemetery in Ina with Bro. Brad Ryan officiating. Burial will follow. There will be No Visitation, those attending the service are requested to meet at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the family.
