Darrell Lee Nauertz, 65, of Mt. Vernon, IL passed away October 4, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
He was born April 16, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Donald R. Nauertz and Dorothy A. (Oldham) Nauertz.
Darrell married Linda M. (Inman) Nauertz on July 14, 1993.
There will be no public services held.
Darrell is survived by his children Mark Burns and wife Melissa of Springfield, IL and Sherie L. (Burns) Hicks of Wayne City, IL; grandchildren Carlin Burns, Elsy Burns and Erik Hicks; siblings Susan (Nauertz) Cecil and husband Thomas of Lombard, IL and David Nauertz and wife Vicki of Old Fort, NC; 2 nephews and 1 niece; several brother(s) & sister-in-laws, nephew and nieces of his wife's family that loved & accepted him as one of theirs; special friends & neighbors Yvette Odom, David Spears, and Boulder Stroud.
Darrell was preceded in death by his wife Linda, brother, Garry Nauertz, his parents and son-in-law: Kevin Williams.
Darrell was in the Navy and then worked as a general laborer. Darrell was dearly loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
