Darrell Clayton Sigwerth, a beloved son, brother, cherished friend, loyal husband, loving father, devoted grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on April 24, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his wife Joanne of 49 years.
Born on October 8, 1947, in Mt Vernon Illinois to Clarence and Martha Sigwerth he was the youngest of their children. He graduated from Waltonville high School in 1965.
On June 16, 1975 Darrell married the love of his life, Joanne Camfield of Aurora Illinois. Together, they shared 49 years of marriage that was rooted in faith, love, and devotion and commitment. They raised two children, David (Gina), and James (Jessica). And one grandchild James Jr.
Darrell worked at Equipto in Aurora Illinois and taught his boys never to give up. During his final days he was surrounded by his wife Joanne and died peacefully in his home. Darrell will be deeply missed, but his love will remain with us always.
Darrell is survived by his wife Joanne, Sons David (Gina) Sigwerth and James (Jessica) Sigwerth, grandson James Jr., brother Robert (Tommie) Sigwerth; Sisters-in-law-Michelle Sigwerth & Jean Sigwerth and many nieces & nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Martha (Mannen) Sigwerth; his sisters, Vivian Anita Sigwerth, Myrtle Sigwerth, and Maeryta Rainey; and brothers Charles Sigwerth, Clarence “Dude” Sigwerth and Hugh Sigwerth.
There will be a Graveside Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 8th at the Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, IL.
