Donald “Don” DeWayne McCormick, 81, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on November 17, 2024.
Don was born November 11, 1943, in Mt. Erie Township, Wayne County, Illinois, the son of Ebbie and Lovel Gaston McCormick.
Don, also known as “Uncle D”, “Don Mac”, and “Donnie”, retired from General Motors in 2000 after 30 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ebbie and Lovel Gaston McCormick, his first wife, Geneva Morgan McCormick, his grandson Anthony Leutik, and his beloved friend, Bryan Carnithan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Patsy Chalk McCormick of Joliet, Illinois, daughter Pam (Pete) Ferrell of Aurora, Illinois, his sisters Donna (Cecil) Burns of Knoxville, Tennessee, Rhonda (Tom) Ruettiger of Bonnie, Illinois, his brother-in-law Mike (Debbie) Chalk, his sisters-in-law Mary Stout and Jane Slagle, his nephews Patrick (Jennifer) Ruettiger of Cabot, Arkansas, Brent Burns and Kevin (Kathy) Burns of Lenoir City, Tennessee, his nieces Leslie (Bradford) Lund of Chicago, Illinois and Tina Mills of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, his beloved friends James and Mary Ann Selig, Eugene and Fran Herron, and Tom and Michelle Baldwin, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 24th at the Ina Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Brad Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the church.
