Heaven has gained an Angel.
Earlene (Taylor) Osborn of Nason, IL, passed from this life on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:25 A.M. She was at home surrounded by her beloved family and dog.
She was born on December 2, 1931 in Whittington, IL to parents Verna nee Dobbs (Shelton) Taylor and Earl Taylor.
On April 21, 1948 she married Larry Osborn in Piggot, Arkansas. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 22, 2008.
Earlene is survived by her three adoring children Bruce Osborn and daughter-in-law Claudia (Smith) Osborn of Mt. Vernon, IL, Denise Osborn and special friend Mark Buchanan of Opdyke, IL and Brian Osborn and daughter-in-law Jennifer (Orrick) Osborn of Nilwood, IL.
Also surviving are five grandchildren Celeste (Osborn) Robinson & husband Rob of Mt. Vernon, IL, Jessica (Osborn) Patch & husband Tim of Horn Lake, MS, Jared Osborn & special friend Katie Novosad of Virden, IL, Shaylene Osborn & partner Anthony McFadden of Nancy, KY and Brianna Osborn of Richmond, KY. Step-grandchildren Justin, Josh, Jake & Joel Robinson of Mt. Vernon, IL.
Great-grandchildren Chelsey Hale-Browning, Ciara Olivia, Kaitlyn and Myla Osborn, Bailey & Miles Patch, Severian Webb & Zemira McFadden, Step-great-grandchildren Uriah, Zada & Zander Robinson. Great-great-grandchildren Crimson, Camden & Kayson.
Her cherished dog Marleigh and cats Salem, Koko & Ebony. Fur grandbabies Scarlett & Gracie. Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, Step-Father Curtis Kirk, Sister Vanetta (Shelton) Lipe, Brothers Harry “Buck” Shelton, Randall Taylor & Jerry Taylor and three Nephews.
Earlene was a devout Christian and a member of Elk Prairie Christian Church.
Earlene Osborn was a very great lady in all the ways that matter. She was a firm believer in her Savior Jesus Christ. She was a wife and mother who was without comparison. She had a heart of gold and was loved & respected by all who knew her. She was kind to everyone she met. She loved and was kind to animals. She was humble and without selfishness. Earth lost a wonderful woman and Heaven gained an Angel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday October 2nd at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with Pastor Bill Degenhart officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday October 1st at the funeral home.
We ask everyone attending the services to practice social distancing. We are limited to 50 people in our building at a time, and everyone attending is encouraged to wear a mask.
