Eva Geraldine (Ramsey) Allen

Eva Geraldine Allen went to be with the Lord at 11:38 am on November 12, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Geraldine was born in Bonnie on June 7, 1935 to the late Roy and Neveda (Glasco) Ramsey. She married Paul “Sonny” Allen, on July 2, 1954. Paul preceded her in death on December 4, 2011.

Geraldine is survived by daughters Debbie (Randy) Smith, Sandra (Marvin) Frick, and a son Mike (Sara) Allen all of Bonnie, grandchildren, Randa (Chris) Rowland, Cody Allen and fiancée Sadie Herr, Ethan Allen and Jacob Frick, and great grandchild, Shaylen Rowland. Also surviving is brother Ted Ramsey, sister-in laws, Norma Jean Harvill and Darlene Allen, brother-in laws, Donald (Mary) Allen, Buddy (Brenda) Allen, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandchild, Chanda Jean Smith, father and mother in-law, Earl and Freda Allen, brother and sister-in laws, Randall and Geraldine Ramsey, Ray and Trudy Allen, and brother-in laws, Lowell Allen and Roy Harvill.

Geraldine was a cosmetologist and retired from the State of Illinois Murray Center in Centralia. She was a very caring and giving mother who loved her family and church immensely. Although she loved her children dearly her greatest joy by far in life was those who called her Mamaw, (Randa, Cody, Ethan, Jacob and Shaylen). She will be dearly missed by family and all those who had the privilege of meeting her.

Per Geraldine’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 am at the Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois, with Lloyd Adams officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be given to the Kirk Cemetery in her honor. Memorials can be given to the family or sent to the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, Illinois, who is in charge of the service.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” It was mom’s season.
