J. Sam Prowell

J. SAM PROWELL, 76, of Thompsonville passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 10, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Ewing, IL on Oct. 27, 1944, the son of Joseph Trelly & Sylvia (Pickett) Prowell.

Mr. Prowell was retired from Caterpillar.  He loved his dogs, Fuzz & Bear.  When he was younger he loved riding his Harley Davidson. He attended the Plasters Grove Free Will Baptist Church, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Benton & the Benton Elks.

Mr. Prowell is survived by his:

2 Daughters: Angela Ott of Lawndale

                         Christy Willman & husband Jerry of Waverly

3 Grandsons: Jake Day, Isaac Willman & Nathan Willman

1 Sister: Sonja Cesar & husband Phil of Buckner

Companion: Alice Faye Arnaud of Ewing

Brother-in-law: Virgil Lovin of Mt. Vernon

Mr. Prowell was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Son-Joseph Gilbert Prowell, Siblings: Delmar R. Prowell, Marian McDonnough, Norma Lovin & Sandra Prowell Gocke.

GRAVESIDE Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. THURSDAY, Nov. 12th at Thurmond Cemetery in Ewing with Pastor Kevin Bullard officiating.  There will be No Visitation, those attending the service are requested to meet at the cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Sam’s memory to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. or to Finding Forever Animal Rescue.
