LAURA MAY SCHLAG, 97, of Belle Rive passed away Monday evening, August 17, 2020 at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center.
She was born in West Frankfort, IL on July 17, 1923, the daughter of Fred & Martha (Neibel) Denham.
On July 21, 1942 in St. Louis, MO she married Arthur J. Schlag and he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1999.
She attended the Summersville Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Schlag was a lifetime homemaker, she was always there for her family.

Roger W. Schlag & wife Joyce of Belle Rive

She is also survived by several Nieces & Nephews
Mrs. Schlag was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, by a Son-Roscoe A. Schlag, by a Granddaughter, by a GreatGrandson, and by Siblings-Daisy Kehrer, Roscoe Denham, Roberta Jones, Harry Denham & Harvey Denham.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday August 22nd at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with Pastor Nathaniel Green & Pastor Geoff Bond officiating. Burial will be in the Lowry Hill Cemetery in Belle Rive. Visitation will be from 1:00 P. M. to 2:00 P. M. Saturday at the funeral home.
We ask everyone attending the services to practice social distancing. We are limited to 50 people in our building at a time, and everyone attending is encouraged to wear a mask.
