Melana Jo (Aarant) Allen

Melana Jo Allen, 66, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Wednesday afternoon July 30, 2025 at the Nature Trail Health & Rehab Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on February 6, 1959 the daughter of Harold & Joan (Knight) Aarant.
Melana was a member of the Mt. Vernon First Free Will Baptist Church. She worked at Mid America truck Stop, Huck's Truck Stop, then at Anchor and the Drury Inn.
She is survived by:

Ted McGovern & Michelle of Nason
Kevin McGovern & Lori
Chris McGovern
Melana was preceded in death by her Parents, 1 Brother-Loyd and Brother-in-law-Larry Dean McGovern.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 3rd at the Mt. Vernon First Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Abner Cemetery in Nason. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the church.
