Norma Joan Dunbar, aged 91 of Ina, passed away peacefully May 1, 2026 at home surrounded by family. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Norma was known for her kindness, strength and quiet wisdom. She served faithfully at the Ina Missionary Baptist Church , offering words of wisdom and comfort to all.
She loved God, her family and her beloved pets. Norma is survived by her husband, Bob Dunbar, with whom she had just celebrated their 73rd anniversary, two children, Renee (Vernon) Presley and Jay (Twana) Dunbar. Her pride and joy was her 4 grandchildren, Amelia Presley, Annessa (Brent) Witges, Kirk (Kourtnie) Dunbar and Klayton (Kaci) Dunbar. Dear to her heart were her 9 great grandchildren, Jasper and Thatcher Witges, Karter & Kollin Dunbar, Kynlie, Kayslie and Kolsyn Rightnowar and Kreedance and Koraline Dunbar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Gertrude Kirk, brothers Howard and Lester Hays and sister Helen Hughey and several other special family members.
Norma’s faith, compassion and gentle strength will live on through her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 3rd from 1 to 3 pm, followed by funeral at 3 pm at the Ina Missionary Baptist Church, Ina, IL.
Donations may be made to the Ina Missionary Baptist Church or Hospice Residential Care.
