Richard Winder Obituary

Richard “Dick” Leroy Winder, 72, of Carriere, Mississippi received his great reward from his Lord and Savior at 10:22 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
Dick was born on October 7, 1947 to MSGT Robert Leroy Winder and Wynema (Eastridge) Winder at the US Naval Hospital in San Diego, California.
On May 17, 1986, he married, the love of his life, Juanita (Adams) Winder, the daughter of James and Jane Adams of Bonnie, Illinois. Richard was blessed with five children— Diane (Winder) Bliss, Keith Winder, Rene Walden, Tina Marquez and Trisha Noel.  He had fifteen grandchildren (Hunter Dela Torre, Kameran Winder, Taelyn Bliss, Andrew Walden, Lucas Walden,  Noah Walden, Jordan Grant, Jillian Coleman, Ellie Eklund, Jessica McNair, Levi Noel, Chase Noel, Zoey Noel, Zachary Noel and Luke Noel) and three great grandchildren (Aiden Reeves, Brooklyn Dixson, Jackson Coleman).
Over Dick’s lifetime, he ran a construction crew for Bennie Thurman building houses in the Coquille, Oregon region, he was an electrical assembler advancing to a lab technician at Nutherm International in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Employment brought him to the Mississippi Gulf Coast area where he  was gainfully employed at Valspar Refinish--beginning on the filling line and advancing to the QC Lab.
His work ethic and dedication to his family were never ending. Spending time with his family and friends was what made his heart full. He enjoyed classic cars and trucks and would always ask Juanita to buy them for him.  Traveling all over the countryside was something Dick and Juanita loved to do. To coin a phrase—they were travelin’ fools except to Walmart.
Dick is survived by his wife Juanita, daughters Diane, Tina, Trisha, and Rene, his fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, Brother Mike Winder and wife Andrea, Sister Carrie Winder and husband Peter, Brother Bobby Winder, Brother-in-law Julian Jaeger, Brother-in-law Curtis Adams and wife Faye, Brother-in-law Gary Adams and wife Chris, Brother-in-law Richard Adams and wife Mildred, Sister-in-law Wilma Book and husband Lindell, Brother-in-law Eddie Adams and wife Louise, Brother-in-law Lloyd Adams and wife Sharon, Brother-in-law Kenneth Adams and Anna, Brother-in-law Paul Adams and wife Ruth Ann, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Dick was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Sister Sue Jaeger and son Keith Winder.
