Roger Marcum Obituary

Roger J. Marcum, 71, of Mt. Vernon passed away Wednesday morning March 18, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on October 3, 1948, the son of Kelly & Wilma (Sursa) Marcum.

Roger married Charlene (Allen) Marcum on January 14, 1972, and she preceded him in death on August 27, 2016.

Mr. Marcum was retired from the Railroad. Roger Owned & Operated Marcum Harness Shop for many years, and was active in showing Haflinger Horses. Roger along with his wife sold Avon at DuQuoin Flea Market for numerous years.

Mr. Marcum is survived by his:

Son: Alan Marcum of Ashley

Daughter: Robin Ebert & husband Chris of Ashley

Grandchildren: Dylan, Natalie & Parker

Sister: Barbara Stoker & husband Jim of Mt. Vernon

Mr. Marcum was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, 2 Brothers-Henry & Larry Marcum and by 1 Sister-Diane Marcum.

As per Mr. Marcum's request he has been cremated.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
