Sharon Fullerton Obituary

Sharon Fullerton passed away peacefully April 16, 2025 at McLean County Nursing Home in Normal, IL. She was 83. Sharon was born to Buel and Allene Williams December 18, 1941 in Waltonville, IL. She married Eddie Adams of Bonnie, IL in 1957. They had two children: daughter, Kimsey, who died tragically as a teen in 1976; and son, Cory who married Diana Williams. She was grandmother to Phillip, Michael, and Jennifer and great-grandmother to Landon, Cameron, Logan, Isabella, Sadie, Samuel, and Greyson.
Sharon dedicated many years at multiple healthcare facilities, including Murray Center in Centralia where she retired in 2004. She found great meaning and purpose in the work she did supporting young children and disabled adults. She truly cared for her “kids” and would speak fondly of them quite often.
Sharon was known to frequently visit yard sales and auctions, admiring and also collecting a variety of antiques and collectibles. She was particularly proud of her wash basin and pitcher collection, of which she amassed more than 100 matching sets.
On many occasions, she enjoyed getting out for an evening of music and dancing at Ina’s Friday Night Jams.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kimsey, Paul Pilkington, and brother-in-law Walt Grimes.
She is survived by husband Winston Fullerton, son Cory Adams and daughter-in-law, Diana along with their 3 children Phillip (Danica), Michael (Amy), and Jennifer, as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother Darrell (Judy) Williams and sister Connie Grimes.
She will be remembered fondly for her “unique” Christmas and birthday gifts, her cheesecakes, and her love of singing and music.
Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother; she is loved and will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 21st at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with Rev. Dale Burzynski officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
