William D. "Bill" Ligon, 100, of Ina passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Mt. Vernon.
He was born on June 5, 1917, the son of William Daniel & Zula (Richardson) Ligon.
On March 4, 1939 in Jackson, MO he married Bea O'Dell, and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2006.
Mr. Ligon was a World War II Army Veteran serving with the 28th Infantry Division, He saw action in Northern France and The Rhineland. Mr. Ligon was a Coal Miner for 32 years. He was a member of the Ina Free WIll Baptist Church. He formerly served as Mayor of Ina, and was on the Ina Grade School Board for several years. He was a lifelong Republican.

2 Grandsons: Dan & Sean both of Tennessee
1 Granddaughter: Katie of South Haven, MS
Mr. Ligon was preceded in death by his Parents, by his Wife-Bea Ligon, by 2 Brothers-Ted & Guy, and by 5 Sisters-Ruie, Wilma, Edith, Marie & Wanda and by a half-Sister-Gladys Drennan.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, February 25th at the Ina Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Brad Ryan officiating. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Post #141 will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation will be after 1:30 P.M. on Sunday at the Church.
